Gearbox Express celebrates two years of operations!
The Gearbox Express team wanted to celebrate our second year of operation with our customers so we invited a select group to participate in a “Crash Course” of GBX School on April 10, 2014. Fifteen people experienced a condensed version of our usual two-day GBX School training course. We included both classroom and shop-floor training from industry technicians and engineers from Romax, Amsoil, Timken and GBX.
The agenda covered all aspects of the gearbox including common failure modes, design parameters, bearing analysis, lubricant review, a live demonstration of effective use of portable vibration, interactive borescoping for all participants and more. The end result was a more thorough understanding of why gearboxes fail prematurely, and how improved maintenance can alleviate many issues. The day was capped off with a social hour where everyone was able to tour our facility at a more leisurely pace and get to know each other. The GBX management team announced some exciting technology developments and showcase expansion plans.
It was a great way for our customers to truly experience how we approach our business. We believe in a proactive approach to protecting assets and that approach starts with understanding your biggest asset – the gearbox. We also believe that by sharing our knowledge, we are creating a collaborative and innovative relationship with our customers; a relationship where we both benefit.
