AWEA O&M and Safety Conference 2018

Five of us from Gearbox Express traveled to San Diego late February for the American Wind Energy Association’s Annual O&M Conference. Each of us had attended in previous years, but for Tony McCartney (Account Manager) and me (John McKay), it was our first time as a Gearbox Express staff member; making it all the more exciting. As Vice President of Operations, I view the two-day conference as one of the few “must attend” events of my year. Here are four takeaways I have from the 2018 AWEA O&M Conference:

• Tony and I were excited to introduce ourselves as the newest members of the GBX team to the wind farm owners and operators. GBX is a dynamic solution’s provider, and we enjoyed sharing what do.
• GBX successfully hosted an event at the legendary Aero Club. It was fun “Shaking it Up” with current and future customers.
• We were able to meet with key industry leaders, current customers and suppliers to discuss current issues, true-up existing and future operations, and talk through our solution offering.
• The GBX sales team was able to meet with and provide solutions for customers currently going through operating issues.

It was a great conference and we are looking forward to AWEA Windpower 2018 in Chicago in May!
